Lorenzo's Oil

this is a story of a a boy call Lorenzo. he had inherited this rare disease called AdrenoLeukoDystrophy (ALD) which only affects males from the age of 5-12. This disease removes the protective myelin sheath around the nerve cells due to excess saturated fat in the blood. without myelin, it will cause the victim to lose control over its muscles. the story started in 1984, by showing Lorenzo being a clever and healthy boy at the age of 5. however, one day, he started to get annoyed easily out of the blue and starts throwing tantrums. His parents, Augusto and Michaela then took him to the doctor and discovered that he had contracted ALD. at that point of time, there isnt any treatment for ALD and all of the boys who got it would die.

Despite all the wet blankets by scientists and doctors saying that they isn't any cure, they seek to find their own cure. They spent most of their time researching in libraries, holding conferences with doctors all over the world and trying to figure out the theory and understanding behind the disease. During these times, Lorenzo's body starts to deteriorate very fast, losing his sight, hearing, ability to swallow food etc.

through all the research and findings, Augusto and Michaele managed to come up with a Lorenzo's Oil that consists of 2 types of food oil that can reduce the amount of satuarated fats in the blood. this oil has helped prolong the life of Lorenzo and he had regained his sight. it has also helped many other children who have contracted the disease.

this is the most touching movie i have watched since one litre of tears? hahha.. i cried so much in the LT. i strongly recommend you guys to watch. parents' love for a child is very wei da!!! so must love our parents more from now.. hhahah.. just a sudden tot.. =)
