lucky??

decided to take some time off my studying to update..

finally im catching up and closing the gap i'm lagging in my study plan.. felt a sense of satisfaction =)

vsitied old school timbre with 47peeps on fri.. my first time there dining and i realised its a different atmosphere from the substation. maybe it's a lil too quite for us cos we were making quite a bit of noise, spoiling the silence in a way.. din really get to enjoy n appreciate the music there cos we were all busy playing with the ipod games.. hahha..

and i bought my new camera!! a blue canon ixus 95.. din get ixus 80 cos they do not have the colour i wanted.. bought from song brothers at sim lim.. only to realise that they were a known black shop that cheats their customers.. thanks andrew n vincent for adding on to the fire the whole night.. im not really affected but poor jenny... she seems quite upset.. :P

we dropped to 4th for cesim.. guessed it boils down to our over-conservetism.. we tot we were already quite agressive in the share buybacks n dividend payouts but the rest beat us to it.. 7/10 is still not bad a grade for us la i suppose..

received a sms last night from my good fren saying how lucky i am in times of economic crisis.. already settled on a job before i graduated..

the message goes: 'you lucky gal.... ha... do you know you're the most most times billion lucky women in this planet?'

im quite saddened and affected by what she said.. makes me think does all that i have and acheived up to this point in time is all becos im lucky? i agree that most things up to this point have been quite smoothing sailing for me.. there are times where i worked hard and times where i played hard.. i doubt it's pure luck for me? maybe others could not see the hard work i've put in what i do? so they assumed that whatever i acheived is due to my luck? it may appear to her that she puts in alot more effort than me but she cant acheive somewhere close to what i have. i kept encouraging her to be optimistic but i guess i cant change her perspective due to her consistent rejections in job applications and not so ideal results.. i duno how to reply her message and it left me thinking..

guess that's life? there are things that you are better than others and things that others are better than you. but you cant see what you have and get envious of what the others have....

a day in chinatown

met up with andrew, elaine and hp for lunch at chinatown.. andrew bought for us a yellow top each from his bangkok trip!! we can all wear it out one day for our outing and it'll definitely attract lots of attention from the crowd.. hahha.. tink it'll be quite fun =)

as there's still alot of time before my driving at 5, we went to international plaza to look for some temp job and elaine's prospective job.. but the agency said tt it's still early to apply now since they're starting in june.. then hp went off for her driving, and me n elaine continued to walk back to chinatown..

we started taking photos and pretended to be tourisits for 5 mins? hahha..
elaine: watashi wa nihon-jin desu.
me: watashi mo nihon-jin desu.
apparently we were jap tourists.. hehe



driving was quite sucky yest.. i think i might be a hazard on the road cos the instructor said tt i din check safety throughout the journey from yio chu kang to ubi and back.. oh man.. it shall be my next aim to pass the safety component during the next lesson..

AND I DECIDED TO BUY A NEW CAMERA!! jenny is so excited tt she called me immediately after i msged her.. hahha.. yes there's someone to swipe your card with you jenny.. LOL.. so now its deciding between ixus 80 or ixus 95..

on a happy note, we're 2nd for CESIM now.. whoohoo~~

finally i have a free day from school and the endless project meetings =)
update time!!

last fri was a happening day for my family.. my cousin gave birth to a boy in the morning!! it was her third child.. haven had a chance to visit her and the newborn at the hospital.. i think the earliest i can see the child shld be at the 1 month celebration.. new addition to the family =)

and on the same day, it was my grandma's 92nd bdae =) so the newborn had the same chi bdae as my grandma. 2 pairs of members having the same bdae.. (newborn n grandma, me and delvyn) what a bliss.. haha.. and i heard from my another cousin tt she's getting married in nov.. tt's 3 good news i've heard in a day!! whoohoo.. this means tt i have to take leave on tt day cos the wedding will be on a mon.. cant wait~

this year's celebration was a small one cos most of my aunt's children and their family could not make it.. due to work and of cos including the one tt just gave birth.. hahha.. but it was still a joyous and happy one!

received a letter from kp tt my commencement date will be on 1 sept.. now tt i have 2 additional months of hol, i shall plan what i can do to keep my days occupied.. definitely the first on my list is to pass my driving in late june!! hahha..

thanks to jenny, i might have to spend money on a new digi cam.. i cant decide if i shld get it cos i alr had a camera and i think it's still working fine.. just tt i haven figured out how to use all the functions available.. and if i were to buy the camera, this means tt i would have to give up on itouch.. have to make a choice among the 2.. cant really have both cos i'll burn a big hole in my bank acct.. hhaha.. shall make the decision on fri when me n jenny check out the cameras on fri..

i can foresee that the remaining weeks before the exams will continue to revolve around project discussions and cesim.. let's all work hard and enjoy the moments cos this is our last sem!!! hahha

one week break comes and goes in a blink.. to be exact, i had 3 weeks of break (2 weeks MC before the break).. hhaha.. some quick updates of the term break..

yeah we finally booked our tix for the grad trip!! due to some reasons, there has been a huge change of plans for our grad trip: from australia to korea and shanghai.. but it was still a good idea to go korea and shanghai =) we can get to visit the teddy bear museum and faceshop!! i can already imagine jenny's shopping basket full of masks.. hhahah.. so looking forward to it!!

after the fair, me n yy went to starbucks at city hall to study for the upcoming quiz before meeting the rest for timbre.. not really productive tho.. hahha.. the band playing tt night was THE UNXPECTED.. we were really surprised by the band cos they had a violist.. the first band tt i seen to have a violist in it.. and they were really good!! no wonder they were the unexpected.. hhaha

after timbre at fort canning, we decided to pay a visit to the timbre @ old school, since most of us did not go before.. so 7 of us squeezed into david's car and off we went!! the place is really quieter and less compact as the one at fort canning.. a good place for real catching up as there is no heavy music, only those singings accompanied by guitar or piano.. lastly we head to selegie for some beancurd before heading home..

david u can organise more of such outings.. hahha.. but organiser cannot be late again k? if not, it's your treat.. hehe
